Numerology Foreign Language Calculations

We have recently overcome some of the issues that come up with foreign languages by learning to interpret the foreign language alphabets and by assigning 'new' values to each of the letters. The explanation below will help you learn to create your own Numerological Alphabet Value system that you can use to create readings for yourself or others who are from different nationalities and backgrounds, other than English. For information on specific langauges visit our Numerology foreign language page.

A recent inquiry by an Icelandic woman led to a discussion which allowed us to determine the correct methods for calculating foreign language alphabets in modern numerology. The first issue that came up was HOW to use the characters in the alphabet which are NOT standard English characters. On first looking at this issue, I was replacing the characters with similar sounding English ones, for example, using A instead of the Á (in Icelandic), or using the value of the English D in place of the Icelandic Ð character. This method did not give the best results. I then used a method recommended by a few other authors stating that the alphabet should be numbered as it's original form, and then the values assigned 'serially' (sequentially) as was done with the English alphabet values used today with the Pythagorean system. (*see the tables below).

The English letter alphabet appears above. The next step is to interpret this using the language that you are interested in doing calculations for. The first time we did this, we included some of the letters in the alphabet which are IN THE ALPHABET, but are NOT part of the actual language and are not used in actual words of that langauge (unless those words are from other languages), for example 'C', 'Q', and 'W' in Icelandic. Those three letters ('C', 'Q' and 'W') are only used in Icelandic names when the name is derived from another language! Including those three letters (as values in the numerological system) was not correct.

We found that by removing those three letters we had a more 'vibrationally correct' representation - and that if we want to use those letters in a name (in Icelandic), that we should replace those letters with their 'sound-alike' corresponding letters as follows: For 'C' write 'S' or 'K' depending on the pronounciation, for 'Q' write 'K', for 'W' write 'V' or 'Ú' depending on the pronounciation. It is therefore shown that ONLY the letters that are used in the language should be included, and that those letters that appear in the alphabet, but are derived from other languages should be removed when creating the 'numerological valuation chart'. This gives us a correct Icelandic chart, and you can use these similar concepts to create 'numerological valuation charts' in any language of your choice - see the Icelandic chart below (note that the 'C', 'Q' and 'W' are NOT in this chart), this is the correct way to create a 'numerological valuation chart':

Special Situations: Cc, Qq, and Ww do NOT appear in the 'true' Icelandic alphabet, though they MAY appear in Icelandic names! To handle these situations you need to write a specific English letter that represents the 'sound' of the letter, for 'C' write 'S' or 'K' depending on the pronounciation, for 'Q' write 'K', for 'W' write 'V' or 'Ú' depending on the tonal pronounciation.

The chart above proved to be correct. The next issue which arose involved whether or not to use names from other nationalities (within a specific name); for example if an Icelander had a Norweigian Middle name! Luckily it turned out that the nationality of the person should OVER-RULE the nationality of the specific names within the name, in this case the Icelandic value system would be used since the person was of Icelandic nationality and this over-rides the Norweigian middle name.

The final thing we had to do was update our software to allow us to enter more than the standard English Alphabet - you can see from the chart above that the Icelandic Value system has 33 letters in it (instead of the 26 in the English Value system). We have completed this and we currently have alphabets for Icelandic, Norweigian/Danish, Swedish, Macedonian, Spanish, Slovenian and others will follow soon!

Also a language selection box has been added to our order forms, we can now process orders in these foreign langauges. This is very exciting, and I think we are one of the only places anywhere (Internet or locally) that can produce readings in multiple langauges.
